Ryuichiro Miyazawa is his 2nd year at Nihon University Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine. He studies fish immune mechanisms using zebrafish and ginbuna as model fish. In the previous study, he confirmed that monoclonal antibodies against ginbuna CD4-1 and CD8α crossreact with CD4-1 and CD8α positive T cells of lymphocytes in zebrafish and another cyprinid.
This research result was reported to Japanese and international conferences and published in a paper (Miyazawa et al., Dev. Comp. Immunol, 2016. Using these antibodies, he aims to reveal T cell maturation and autoimmunity mechanisms in fish.
