Biography

Ronny is an environmental biologist and the lead for bioinformatics at Cefas. His main research interests are focused on the discovery and characterisation of novel and emerging pathogens of fish and shellfish with relevance to global aquaculture.

He applies the latest high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics approaches, including metagenomics (eDNA), whole genome sequencing and RNA sequencing, to identify, characterise and classify these novel and emerging pathogens and to investigate host-pathogen interactions in infected fish and shellfish.
