Pattana Jaroenlak is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biochemistry and Centex Shrimp at Mahidol University, Thailand. He is a Thai Government Scholar under the Science Achievement Scholarship of Thailand (B.Sc.-Ph.D.) project. Prior to joining the Biochemistry department, Pattana completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a first class honor from Mahidol University.
Pattana’s current research focuses on a microsporidian parasite Enterocytozoonhepatopenaei (EHP) that causes growth retardation in black tiger shrimp and Pacific-white shrimp. His work is developed through the partnerships with Dr. Grant Stentiford at Cefas, UK and Dr. Bryony Williams at University of Exeter, UK.
