Dolores V. Baxa, Dr.
Dolly is a senior project scientist at the University of California, Davis with emphasis on research of infectious diseases of fish. My projects have focused on transmission, detection, and life cycles of disease agents of fish and secondary hosts in fresh and marine water environments; harmful algal blooms and health of threatened fishes in estuarine ecosystems.
Current studies are centered on impacts of drought and disease and effects to predation in California salmonids. Engagements in Indonesia include building scientific capacity on disease management of ornamental fishes and sustainability of marine resources at Mars Symbioscience, Makassar and collaborations with Hasanuddin University.
